It is important to note that the type of wood used in the making of the American strat is different from the one used in the making of the Mexican strat. This is one of the most important differences between American strat and the Mexican strat. It is interesting to learn that a certain pieces of wood are necessary in the making of the Stratocaster. Three wood pieces are used in the creation of American strat. On the other hand the Mexican strat is made of five wood pieces.

Types of wood such as Ash, Polar and Alder are used in the making of the body part of the American strat. Maple and Rosewood are the types of wood used in the making of the fret board in the American strat. Alder is the type of wood chiefly used in the making of the Mexican strat.
