BA vs BBA

BA and BBA are two degrees offered as courses of study by various colleges and universities across the world. These two degrees show some difference between them when it comes to the qualification required, eligibility conditions, subjects and the like.

BA is also called as Bachelor of Arts. It is a three year under graduate course. BA can be completed by taking any of the major subjects such as history, geography, English, philosophy, economics, political science and the like. Along with the major subject the student has to study a few allied subjects too. These allied subjects generally go together with the major subject chosen by the student. The purpose of studying allied subjects is that the student can opt for his post graduation in any one of the allied subjects as well.

BBA on the other hand can be expanded as Bachelor of Business Administration. It is a three year course like any other Bachelor Degree course. The student specializes in the subject of business administration and other allied subjects like marketing, sales, organizational skills and the like. It is considered a basic degree if the student intends to go for higher studies in business administration. In other words it can be said that a student gets admission into MBA or the Master of Business Administration program if he clears all the papers and passes the BBA examination with high percentage.

It is important to know that a student is required to submit dissertation at the end of the course of study in the case of BBA. On the other hand the student is not required to submit dissertation towards the end of the course of BA. Of course he has to submit a dissertation in the case of degrees like BA Hons. Finally a student is required to pass an entrance examination sometimes to get admission into BBA degree.
