HTC Puccini vs iPad 2
Ever since its launch in March 2011, Apple’s iPad 2 has been a darling of all tablet lovers. Not only it is selling like hotcake because of its features, it is perceived as the ultimate because of innovative marketing by Apple. Many mobile manufacturers have tried to come up with their tablets, but so far have failed to shake up iPad 2 from its top position in the tablet segment. Now it is the turn of Taiwanese giant HTC to take on the might of iPad 2 with its recently unveiled tablet HTC Puccini. Let us take a closer look at the product to see if it indeed has it to challenge the supremacy of iPad2.

While other major players were busy designing tablets to compete with iPad, Apple surprised the world with the launch of iPad 2, which was decisively much better than iPad. iPad 2 is not just lighter and thinner than iPad, it is much faster and gives a better performance than its predecessor. Despite all such changes, it is priced at $499, the same as iPad at release, and also is a miser as it consumes same power as iPad. Apple has claimed that it is twice as faster than iPad and nearly 10 times faster than iPad when it comes to graphics processing.

It runs on Apple’s proprietary mobile operating system, iOS 4.3. iPad 2 is 33% thinner than iPad making it almost as thin as the thinnest smartphones, which is an achievement in itself. It measures 241.2×185.7×8.8 mm and weighs just 601g. It is a dual camera device, whereas iPad had none. One can not only take pictures but also record HD videos with the rear camera, while the front one is a VGA camera that allows face to face chat with Facetime, and to take self portraits and share with friends on social networking sites.
