HTC Sensation vs T-Mobile myTouch 4G – Full Specs Compared
HTC Sensation and T-Mobile myTouch 4G are both on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network, the Sensation is the latest addition (April 2011) to T-Mobile network while T-Mobile myTouch 4G is one of the early phones (Q4 2011) to experience the HSPA+ speed. HTC Sensation as the latest arrival has the advantage of having a better specs. It belongs to the dual-core generation while myTouch 4G contains a single core processor. HTC Sensation (earlier rumored as HTC Pyramid) has a 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) TFT LCD display with 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and runs the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread). It is compatible with WCDMA/HSDPA (14.4Mbps) networks. It’s a superb multimedia smartphone with widescreen, surround sound, Hi-Fi audio, integrated HTC Watch service and a 8MP camera with 1080p camcorder to capture and treasure the nice moments in life. Users can share those nice moments on a large screen via HDMI and DLNA. While T-Mobile myTouch 4G is not very much behind in specs, it is another popular phone from HTC featuring 3.8” high resolution WVGA screen with 1GHz snapdragon processor, 768MB RAM, 5.0 mega pixel camera with LED flash, VGA front facing camera with pre-installed qik application for video calling, HD video recording, 4GB ROM and pre-installed 8GB microSD card, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and available in three colors, red, white and black.
HTC Sensation 4G
HTC Sensation 4G is the US version of HTC Sensation (previously known as HTC Pyramid). This is a high performing smartphone that is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a huge 4.3” qHD display at a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels using Super LCD technology. The processor is a second generation Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chipset (same processor used in Evo 3D) that consists of 1.2 GHz dual core Scopion CPU and Adreno 220 GPU, which will deliver high speed and performance efficiency while eating less power.
Running on the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) with the new HTC Sense 3.0 UI, it gives a pleasing user experience. The new Sense UI gives a fresh look to the home screen and has included instant capture camera, multi window browsing with quick look up tool, customizable active lockscreen, 3D transitions and an immersive experience with the weather application.
This amazing phone has 768 MB RAM and 1 GB internal memory (8GB supplied on microSD card for certain countries). Internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards.
The smartphone is a dual camera device having an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash at the back that is capable of shooting HD videos at 1080p. HTC Sensation – First Look
T-Mobile myTouch 4G
T-Mobile myTouch 4G is the first 4G phone of the T-Mobile’s myTouch line up. myTouch 4G runs Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.0 and features a 3.8” WVGA (800 x 480) display, 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor and 768MB RAM. The display, though it is not a super LCD or super AMOLED, it is bright enough to read in daylight.
myTouch 4G is a dual camera phone, 5.0 mega pixel camera with LED flash at the rear, it has full screen view finder and touch focus. It can capture HD video with 720p. The camera is reasonably good. A VGA camera is in the front for mobile video chat using pre-installed qik or Yahoo Messenger. The handset has an impressive storage capacity; 4GB ROM and pre-installed 8GB microSD card. For location based services it has A- GPS with navigation capability. For wireless connectivity it has Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. The battery with a rating of 1400 mAh battery lasts a day full of hectic use of the phones multimedia abilities.
Some of the other applications in T-Mobile myTouch are Visual Voice Mail, mobile hotspot that can connect up to 5 devices and mobile video chat without buffering (powered by Qik), seamless web browsing with Adobe Flash Player 10.1. For web based applications such as qik and mobile hotspot users need to have the broadband package from T-Mobile.
T-Mobile MyTouch 4G offers three color choices, red, white and black.

It has added flavor to T-Mobile myTouch 4G camera application with many camera features like full screen viewfinder, touch focus, onscreen access to camera adjustments and effects. With HTC sense homescreens can be personalized easily, it also offers a good music player, better than Android music player. Browsing is made enjoyable with features like magnifier, quick look up to look for a word, Wikipedia search, Google search, YouTube search, Google translate and Google dictionary. You even can add a new window for browsing or move from one window to another by zooming in and out.
T-Mobile launched myTouch 4G in 2010 to compete with iPhone 4 while HTC Sensation is a 2011 release, it is a next generation smartphone. So HTC Sensation has a great specs compared to myTouch 4G. However myTouch 4G has the price advantage.T-Mobile myTouch 4G is now available for free with a new 2 year contract.
