Huawei Ideos vs HTC Wildfire
Huawei Ideos and HTC Wildfire are two cute phones released this year. HTC Wildfire, which is a mid end Android based smartphone, has been very popular with the masses. Now Huawei, the Chinese telecom giant has attempted to provide this Android platform at surprisingly low prices by introducing a new smartphone called Huawei Ideos. However, there are glaring differences that will be highlighted in this article.
This smartphone is an honest attempt by HTC to pack as many as high end features in the mobile without pushing up the price. The display is a decent 3.2 inches in size with QVGA resolution (320X240) on an LCD panel. The touch screen is highly capacitive and images are vivid and bright. It runs on Android Froyo 2.1 with a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor and has a 384 MB RAM. The phone boasts of the famous HTC sense UI that makes playing games and browsing on the net a smooth experience for the users.
The phone is equipped with a 5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.1 b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. It has all the standard features of smartphones such as accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is even FM radio and micro USB slot. Wildfire measures 4.2 x 2.4 x 0.48 inches and is light weighing just 4.16 ounces.
Do not go by the name. Huawei Ideos is a fast smartphone available at a fraction of the price you pay for other brands. If you are skeptical, here is a bit of information about this latest offering from this Chinese company. This is a new entry level Android 2.2 Froyo based smartphone. The press release from the company has labeled it as the world’s most affordable smartphone with a price somewhere below $200.
This smartphone has a 2.8” capacitive touch screen at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It has a 528 MHz processor with 512 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM. It boasts of a 3.2 MP camera with auto focus and is equipped with standard smartphone features such as GPS, accelerometer, proximity sensor etc. It has micro SD card slot using which the user can expand memory up to 16 GB. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi with Bluetooth.
In conclusion, it can be safely said Huawei Ideos has many of the features of HTC Wildfire though it loses out in terms of specs when compared with HTC Wildfire. It has a smaller display and a weaker camera than Wildfire. However, this weakness is made up with a better OS and a huge price difference with Wildfire.
