Love and Arranged Marriages are similar because they usually involve a marriage between a man and a woman. Marriage is a contract between two people that they will stay together for the rest of their lives. They involve two people living with one another and sharing responsibilities and duties.

Love Marriages

Marriages due to love are more common nowadays, especially to people in the west. Marriages through love are made because two people decided that they want to spend the rest of their lives with one another, because they have intense feelings of love and passion. The love starts when the couple meets and continues to grow even after marriage. They are both considered equal to one another in marriage.

Arranged Marriages

For arranged marriages, the partners are chosen by the parents and families of the bride and the groom. The families look into the background of each comparing status, health, and sometimes habits. The two usually do not get to meet until they get married. They start their relationship during marriage, rather than before. Usually the man has more of a powerful role in the relationship.

Difference between Love and Arranged Marriages

Marriage because of love and arranged marriages are quite different aside from their form. People who get married out of love already know each other well and can get along well already. Those who are in arranged marriages are not sure yet since they haven’t met, and could possibly not get along at all. In love marriages, it is usually only about the two people are united. When it comes to arranged marriages, it is as if the entire family is getting married to the other one. The love in love marriage is already there, whereas in arranged marriages it has to be created.

Love and Arranged marriages can go smoothly or have many problems. No relationship is perfect and it takes work on both sides for something to work.
