Airbus A380 vs Boeing 747
Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 differ in a number of features. The most popular feature in Airbus A380 is the double deck all along the plane whereas Boeing 747 is not characterized by such feature. Airbus A380 is considered a real revolution by itself, it is the largest commercial aircraft flying by 2010.
The two planes differ in length also; Airbus A380 is characterized by an additional length when compared to Boeing 747. In fact the Airbus A380 is 72.8 meters in length whereas Boeing 747 is 70.7 meters in length.
The very presence of double deck paves the way for more accommodation for passengers. As a result Boeing 747 can host a maximum of 568 passengers whereas Airbus A380 can host a maximum of 840 passengers! This is one of the main differences between Airbus A380 and Being 747. The spaciousness also allows for new cabin products and services to be offered.
It is interesting to note that a new version of Airbus A380 has already come and it can hold up to a maximum of 950 passengers. This is also possibly due to the fact that low cost flights are growing in demand these days.
It is also important to note that Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 differ in their height too. There is a difference of about 4.7 meters between the heights of Airbus A380 and Boeing 747. Thus the Boeing 747 is a six-story construction whereas Airbus A380 is a 8-story construction.
The wing area of the Airbus A380 is much larger when compared to the wing area of Boeing 747. The Airbus is wider in its cabin than the Boeing. Hence comfort zone is larger in the Airbus A380 than in the Boeing 747.
The two airplanes differ in terms of the production of power as well. As a matter of fact the Airbus A380 is able to produce 50% more power than the Boeing 747. In fact the Airbus A380 produces a power of 84,000 lb. It is also quieter than Boeing 747, it produces at least 50% less noise.
