If you are fond of vacations and that too on cruise ships along the seas, you must have heard the names of Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas, two of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships of the world. Both these ships are owned by the same company, The Royal Caribbean International, and both offer memorable and luxurious cruises to passengers around the world. This article attempts to highlight the differences by pointing out the features, amenities, and facilities provided to the passengers by these two cruise ships.

More about Allure of the Seas

Allure of the Seas is the twin sister of Oasis of the Seas and has the same dimensions as its sister though it is said to be nearly 50mm longer than her sister. The ship was manufactured at the same shipyard in Finland where Oasis was made and handed over to Royal Caribbean in November 2010. It stands at the same home port of Everglades in Florida with her sister. As far as tonnage is concerned, the ship stands at 225,282 metric tons.

What is the difference between Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas?

• Though Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the seas are identical twins, it is hard to tell any difference as both cruise ships have same superstructures with the same length, breadth, width, and public spaces.

• However, in a short span of time, the two sisters have acquired personalities of their own as passengers have found out. The major differences felt by the passengers pertain to dining facilities and the shopping areas in the two ships.

• Allure of the Seas has a daytime solarium that gets converted into a steakhouse by the evening with Brazilian dishes being served to the customers. There is music as well as alcoholic beverages. The $30 (by 2014) charge to eat there includes all the appetizers you can consume and your choice of porterhouse, filet, veal chop, halibut, etc. Another attraction on Allure is a restaurant called Rita’s Cantina with Mexican cuisine and drinks. So take a cruise on Allure if you are a fan of Mexican food. Also, Allure is the option if you love sausages as there are no less than 16 different kinds of sausages in the Dog House at Allure.

• When it comes to special programmes and services, Allure only provides Wi-Fi access. While Oasis provides cell phones service, special dietary needs, wedding and honeymoon packages but no Wi-Fi access.

At the end of the day, all differences are superficial as it is seen that most passengers who book one of the two cruise ships for their vacations book the other sister for their next vacations.
