Apple iPad 2 and Blackberry PlayBook are tablets with the power of a computer. RIM announced its amazing tablet, Blackberry PlayBook in December 2010, from the time onwards everyone is interested to know how Apple is going to face the competition in the tablet market.

PlayBook is a 7″ LCD display with 1024 x 600 resolution and full touch-enabled. But Apple iPad 2 maintained it’s previous size, and the same display with 1024×768 resolution.

PlayBook is very slim and light with the dimension of 194x130x10 mm and 0.9 lbs 400g. Apple iPad 2 weighs 1.3 lbs but its a lot slimmer, it’s only 8.8 mm.

PlayBook is powered by 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor with 1 GB RAM and iPad 2 included a new Apple A5 dual-core ARM based application processor which is much faster than it’s A4, the graphic performance is 9 times faster than A4 but the power consumption is low.

RIM’s QNX technology based OS enable great multitasking feature in PlayBook, the new iOS 4.3 used in iPad 2 has improved on multitasking feature.

And iPad 2 comes with dual camera with gyro sensor that was missing in iPad. PlayBook also has dual cameras.

iPad 2 has added some new features like HDMI compatibility, camera with gyro and a new software PhotoBooth, 720p video camcorder, front facing camera with FaceTime for video conferencing, and introduced two applications, improved iMovie and GarageBand that makes iPad 2 as a small musical instrument. iPad 2 will have variants to support both 3G-UMTS/HSPA network and 3G-CDMA network and will release the Wi-Fi only model also.

iPad 2 is available in black and white colors and use the same battery as iPad and also priced  same like iPad. iPad 2 will be available in the US market from March 11th and to others from March 25th.

Blackberry PlayBook features HDMI out, DLNA certification, Wi-Fi hotspot, Blutooth tethering, Adobe Flash layer 10.1,  and has four variants to support Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi and WiMax, 4G- LTE and HSPA +. For 3G network access you can use your Blackberry smartphone hotspot feature.
