Difference Between BDrip and BRrip

BDrip vs BRrip

Wherever you see the word rip, you can rest assured that the topic is around pirated movies as there are many versions of pirated movies, all having rip as a suffix in them. Some examples are Cam rip, PPV rip, DVD rip, TV rip, and more recently BDrip and BRrip. If you are a lover of movies and download them using torrents, you must have noticed their format mentioned in the torrent before downloading.

As the latest pirated formats are not so common, it is natural for people to remain confused by the terms BDrip and BRrip. Both these formats are similar to DVD rip except that they are both obtained from the same source that is a Blu-ray Disc. These formats are becoming a rage among movie buffs as they feel that these are better than DVD rips. However, what movie lovers fail to understand is that both BDrip and BRrip are essentially the same. This is because a Bluray disc is the source in case of BDrip, but encoding of BRrip is done through a pre release, which is a 1080p BDrip in itself. What is remarkable about both these formats is that they not only burn on regular DVD media, they also playback on all DVD players. One does not need any kind of authoring or re-encoding to see them. However, to enjoy fully, you need to have an HDTV or else you may not get the pleasure of the superior quality video.

Technically speaking, there should not be any difference between a BRrip and a BRrip, but because BRrips are taken from a source that has already been ripped from a Blu ray disc, BRrips are not a direct copy of a Bluray disc. If there was a problem with original .mkv, it will get transferred to the pirated BRrip also. These problems are avoided in BDrips as they come straight from a Blu-ray disc. There is a catch though, if the person making rips is alert and intelligent, it is difficult to find any difference between a BDrip and a BRrip.

Difference Between BDrip and BRrip

• BDrip and BRrip are two recent additions to pirated movie formats.

• BDrip is a movie ripped directly from a Blu-ray disc

• BRrip is encoded from a Blu-ray release, which is in itself a ripped version. Thus, BRrip is a compressed version of an already ripped Blu-ray disc.

• If the source has any technical problems, such as aspect ratio, it will show up even in the ripped version.
