Blackberry PlayBook vs Apple iPad
Blackberry PlayBook and Apple iPad both are 2 tablets mostly used by corporates for multipurpose. Blackberry tablet named “PlayBook” is released to the market and it will be a tough competitor to iPad and other tablets with its super speed and rich content.
PlayBook is to come with full computing power, but in a tablet format. Three things Research In Motion claims about BlackBerry PlayBook to be superior to Apple iPad: the speed of the PlayBook Browser, its support for rich Adobe® Flash® content, and the performance of open web standards like HTML 5 on the PlayBook.
BlackBerry has the advantages of introducing late, so its improvement compared to Apple iPad. Apple iPad as the pioneer has to come up with its next version to keep up its established market. Some improvement can be expected with its iOS upgrade to v4.2.

PlayBook: 7″ LCD display, multi-touch capacitive screen with 1024 x 600 resolution; cool! the whole bezel around the 7″ screen is touch-enabled.
Slimmer [5.1″ x 7.6″ x 0.4″ (130mm x 194mm x 10mm)] and lighter with less than a pound weight [0.9 lbs (400g)].
iPad: 9.7-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology; remarkably crisp and vivid text and graphics with 1024-by-768-pixel, the highest resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi). The display is fingerprint-resistant with its oleo-phobic coating.
Little too big and bulky for mobility with its [9.56″ x 7.47″ x 0.5″ (242.8mm x 189.7mm x 13.4mm)] size and 1.5 pounds weight [ 1.5 pounds (0.68 kg) Wi-Fi model; 1.6 pounds (0.73 kg) Wi-Fi + 3G model].

PlayBook: 1 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB RAM and Symmetric multi-processing
iPad: 1GHz Apple A4 processor with 256 RAM
PlayBook is superior in speed, but iPad’s Apple A4 chip is power efficient that it helps to boost the battery life with up to 10 hours on a single charge. PlayBook’s battery life is not confirmed.
Storage:
PlayBook: expected to be 32GB, yet to be confirmed by RIM
iPad: available with a choice of 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB flash
Operating System:
PlayBook: QNX technology enable great multitasking feature, awesome browsing, gaming and video experience
iPad: iOS 3.2.2 (multitasking not supported) or iOS 4.1 and upgradeable to iOS 4.2(supports multitasking).

iPad: iOS 3.2 does not support full multi tasking and Adobe Flash; it also has restriction on access to other market applications. Users have access to Apple App only; of course App store has got more than 300,000 applications. Also it can boast about access to iTune. Upgrade to iOS 4.02 is expected to bring some improvement in this; 4.02 will enable multi tasking.

PlayBook: Dual HD video cameras; 3 MP high definition forward-facing camera and 5 MP high definition rear-facing camera.
iPad: No camera

HD video recording and playback at 1080p in PlayBook, whereas iPad maximum video recording is at 720p.
iPad support to Apple TV adds additional features to iPad, called AirPlay. All your music, photos, and video on your iPad can be streamed wirelessly to your HDTV and speakers via the Apple TV.

Both support Wi-Fi® 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, built-in Micro USB connector.
PlayBook has 3G access via existing Blackberry Smartphone within the available plan.
