Caravan vs Grand Caravan
Dodge is a brand of cars produced by Chrysler Group and Dodge Caravan is one of its most successful and popular minivans that was first produced in 1983. After four years, in 1987, Chrysler announced a long wheelbase models called Dodge Grand Caravan. Both LWB Grand Caravan and SWB Caravan continued to be produced till 2007 when the company announced its decision to discontinue with Caravan while continuing with the Grand Caravan. It is only natural for people to be interested in knowing the differences between Caravan and Grand Caravan that will be highlighted in this article.
In the last 25 years, four generations of both Caravan and Grand Caravan have been launched by Chrysler and have sold millions across the world. The one notable difference, as described above between a caravan and a Grand Caravan lies in their wheelbase with the wheelbase of a Grand caravan being 119 inch while that of Caravan being 113 inch. This is enough to make a Grand Caravan larger with more room for luggage. Though 7 people can sit easily in a Caravan as well, this doesn’t leave any space for luggage while there is ample luggage space even after 7 people sitting in a Grand caravan.
Among other differences, there is an additional (optional) third row of seats in Grand Caravan and you can get a very powerful 3.3 liter V6 engine in a Grand Caravan while you get a 2.4 liter engine in a Caravan. There are two extra side doors in a Grand Caravan. Grand Caravan, since 2008 has a choice of 6 speed automatic transmission apart from the standard 4 speed automatic transmission.
As on today, the price of a Grand Caravan is around $25000 while that of discontinued Caravan is at best $15000 (that too of a 2007 model).

Scrambler says
Quote “has a HIGHER wheelbase” unquote, really?
You mean to say that the Grand Caravan chassis rides higher off the ground?
Thats what this says, despite what you may have intended to say, the word higher is not interchangeable with longer.
