Difference Between Cooler and Air-Conditioner

Cooler vs Air-Conditioner

Cooler and Air-Conditioner are two kinds of home appliances that show some differences between them although they are used for the same purpose.

A cooler uses hot air and water to cool your living room. An air-conditioner on the other hand uses a compressor like a refrigerator to bring about the cooling process. This is one of the main differences between a cooler and an air-conditioner.

The cooler would work better when it is hotter and dryer outside. On the other hand an air-conditioner works well in all weather conditions. The cooler has the ability to add moisture to the air. Hence it is useful even during the winter season. The air-conditioner on the other hand is not useful in the winter season.

A cooler is not an expensive home appliance. On the other hand an air-conditioner is a costly home appliance. This is because of the fact that a cooler cannot bring about the same cooling effect brought about by an air-conditioner. Using a cooler does not cost you much in the form of electricity bills.

On the other hand the air-conditioner can cost you much in terms of electricity bills. This is also a big difference between the two appliances. The air-conditioner has the ability to maintain constant level of cooling in all conditions whereas a cooler is of minimal usage during humid conditions.

It is very important to note that the split type air-conditioner has an outdoor unit as well. On the other hand outdoor unit is not necessary in the case of a cooler. The air-conditioner has the need of an outdoor unit simply because of the fact that it simply sends the hot air outside the room. This is not the case with the use of a cooler. Hence it does not need an outdoor unit.
