Doing Things Now vs Later
Evidently, there exists a difference between doing things now and later. In our society, people have made a habit of postponing their work for the next day; this is doing things later. But if a person finishes off his work at that particular moment, that can be identified as doing things now. Doing things now has so many perks in it in comparison to doing things later. W can take our time and finish off the task in a proper manner without rushing it. This can also be highlighted as one of the differences that can be identified between the two methods of completing a task. When a person decides to finish off a task later, it involuntarily gets delayed again and again. Finally, when the task needs to be completed, it is done poorly due to the time constraint. This article attempts to highlight the differences between doing things now and later.
What is Doing Things Now?
Doing things now imply that the person completes the work then and there. This is a good habit to cultivate. If we compare those who complete their tasks on the same day that the work has been assigned, they go to bed full of confidence in comparison to those who leave some work for tomorrow. Everyone has 24 hours a day. If we can manage the time properly, it is sufficient for anyone to get all the work done. But you would find that there are some people who are complaining about the shortage of time all the time.
These are the people who delay their work for tomorrow thinking that the next day they can get spare time to finish the task. On the other hand, it is surprising to find men who are extremely busy and yet cheerfully completing their tasks on time. These are men who value time even more than money with the result that they even have spare time for leisure activities.
What is Doing Things Later?
At most occasions, people out of laziness and tiredness, have this habit of postponing tasks, thinking they can make up for the loss next day. They find that next morning brings in its wake new challenges, and they do not find sufficient time to finish the task that they left over. This is why our forefathers always said to finish the task at hand then and there to not panic later.
Doing things at the eleventh hour is a proverb that tells us that it not only creates confusion, doing things in a hurry at a short notice may result in things going awry as well. A stitch in time saves nine. It only means to tell us that if we pay attention to early signs and take corrective action then and there, we are spared from paying dearly later. Time and tide wait for none. Time gone never comes back. This is why it is essential to realize the value of time and doing things then and there to avoid repenting later. Those who say that they cannot find time are also the same who are seen talking and gossiping, wasting their time over a cup of tea. There is no dearth of people who say that they are under constant time pressure, so much so that they are unable to do things on time. Such people should look up to great people with a vision. Time management is art that leaves you with enough time for everything in life, howsoever busy you may be.
