Difference Between Eagle and Hawk

Eagle vs Hawk

Eagle and Hawk are two birds that are to be understood with difference in terms of their nature and characteristics. An eagle has a body made of strong framework of bones. These bones are hollow and are filled with air. Its body is light but strong too. The eagle is boat-shaped in its body and hence is able to float in the air at a great height too.

It is interesting to note that an eagle can fly at great heights. It is said to have a great eye sight and has the ability to spot its prey on the ground from a great height. The eagle is said to have strong and sharp claws and these claws are used to catch and hold their prey firmly. Hence an eagle is called as a preying bird.

The beak of an eagle is strong. It is also sharp and hooked in appearance. The beak of the eagle is helpful in tearing the flesh of the prey. The muscles of the eagle are strong too and hence are often referred to as flight muscles.

On the other hand a hawk has a beak which is simpler and smoother in appearance. It has a curve too along its beak unlike an eagle. A hawk makes use of the talons on its feet to kill its prey unlike the eagle which uses the beak to kills its prey.

As a matter of fact a hawk is typically slower than an eagle and it prefers to glide with much slower of a stroke. It is interesting to note that hawks are larger than falcons but appear to be of the same size as that of eagles. The wings of hawks are considered to be shorter than those of the eagles. These are the differences between eagle and hawk.
