What is the difference between Eau De Toilette and Cologne?

• Both eau de Toilette, as well as Cologne, are used by people on their skin, to get rid of body odors and feel fresh for long hours.

• The basic difference in Eau de Toilette (called toilet water) and Cologne lies in their composition where eau de Toilette contains a higher percentage of aromatic compounds.

• Aromatic oils (called essential oils) in eau de Toilette are to the tune of 5-15% whereas their percentage in Cologne is around 2-5% only.

• Eau de Toilets are thus costlier than Colognes.

• Eau de Colognes can be applied directly on skin again as it evaporates and the fragrance also does not last for more than 2 hours.

• Cologne originated in Germany.

• The higher the concentration of juices (essential oils) in a toiletry, the higher is its longevity on skin. This is why the fragrance of Eau de Toilette lasts longer than the fragrance of Cologne

• If you have an oily skin, your skin can hold the fragrance longer, and you can make do with Cologne. However, if you have a dry skin, you might need stronger Eau de Toilette.
