Difference Between eBay and Amazon

eBay vs Amazon

eBay and Amazon are two popular websites that are widely known as online shopping centers. One of the main differences between eBay and Amazon is that eBay is an online auction website whereas Amazon is an online store.

It is true that both the sites are known to sell all kinds of items online. The difference exists in the method of selling the items. The two sites differ from each other in terms of ownership of items too.

Amazon has the ownership of items that it sells. On the other hand eBay does not have the ownership of items that it sells or auctions on the site. This is an important difference between the two sites.

As far as the problem of getting scammed is concerned these two sites differ to a great extent. In eBay the chances of getting scammed are more. On the other hand one can never get scammed while purchasing items on Amazon.

The quality of items sold in Amazon cannot be questioned because of the authenticity of the quality of products is well established by the fact they are new and fresh. On the other hand the quality of products sold or auctioned on eBay cannot be guaranteed since most products and items auctioned on eBay are used ones. Hence eBay is an auction site.

Another important feature of buying in Amazon is that the products or items carry warranty with them too just as the products that are bought in the offline retail stores. You cannot expect this kind of warranty upon the products or items bought in auctions on eBay.

It is interesting to note that since eBay has been troubled by the presence of scammers they have launched a feedback system whereby the participants in auctions can very well leave feedback about others.
