Felony vs Misdemeanor
Felony and misdemeanor are two legal terms that should be used differently because there is a difference between felony and misdemeanor. Misdemeanor is a kind of crime measured by the maximum period a person can be incarcerated. Felony is, on the other hand, a kind of crime punishable for a period of more than a year. In short it can be said that crimes punishable by longer periods of time are called felonies whereas crimes that are punishable by not very long periods of time are called misdemeanors. Some people say that any crime that does not fall under felony can be treated as a misdemeanor.

A misdemeanor is known as “a crime regarded in the US and many other judicial systems as more serious than a misdemeanour.” In the case of robbery one can call it felony or misdemeanor depending upon the loss of money through robbery in terms of dollars. For example, in a given state of the United States of America, if a particular person incurs a loss to property or wealth to the tune of about $500 through a robbery, then the crime committed on the scene may be termed misdemeanor. If someone is found guilty of the crime of misdemeanor, then the crime gets entry into the record books and the particular person who is say 18 years of age would find it extremely difficult to find a job for himself.
What is the difference between Felony and Misdemeanor?
One has to be very careful in the committal of these crimes in the United States for that matter. It is also the duty of the firms and organizations to verify the personal record books of the applicants before giving them jobs.
