French bulldog and Boston terrier might look similar, well since they both have a common lineage, they both originated from the Bulldog family. But apart from their similarity they actually have different temperaments which set them apart.

French bulldog

The French bulldog, sometimes most commonly referred to as a “Frenchie” by most pet owners, has been known to possess a very sweet and amiable personality. Deeply affectionate and requires little physical activity, this type of dog is recommended for those pet owners that doesn’t have a very active lifestyle. Though they can get along fairly well with strangers, most frenchies are very possessive of their masters and might not follow commands from other people.

Boston terrier

Boston terrier is often described as playful, lively and intelligent. They need physical activities and daily exercises, so it is recommended that they have a pet owner that has an active lifestyle and who is willing to take the dog on walks or they are also suited for families, since they enjoy playing and they respond well to children. They are great barker so they also make good guard dogs.

Difference between French Bulldog and Boston Terrier

Both are very loyal to their owners, however the French bulldog might display monogamy with their masters, which means that they may not like it very much if another dog tries to compete with them for their master’s attention. They might be very friendly to strangers, however due to their monogamous tendency, they might only listen to their masters. Boston terriers on the other hand might be a bit stubborn with regard to training, however if they find a certain activity they certainly would engage in it for learning. They are very content to be put in the backyard or an open space where they can happily romp and play.
