Garmin 405 vs 410

Garmin is a name to reckon with when it comes to GPS enabled devices. For those who are athletes, cyclists or fond of mountaineering, GPS enabled watches made by Garmin are a must. Garmin 405 was a very popular model made by the company, and recently Garmin introduced an improved version called Garmin 410 in an effort to overcome the shortcomings of 405 based upon feedbacks from its customers and their reviews of 405. This article analyses the difference between Garmin 405 and 410 and will be of great help to new buyers in choosing 405 or 410 depending upon their requirements.

Most of the features of Garmin 410 are essentially the same as were found in Garmin 405 and 405 CX, such as recording time, pace, distance, heart rate, elevation etc. Garmin 410 sports an enhanced bezel that was there on 405. This bezel allows users to quickly scroll and select the desired features while on the run or in the midst of a workout. Most of the complaints that came from Garmin 405 owners related with the bezel not working efficiently in moist and damp conditions. This has been taken care of, and Garmin claims the new bezel to be all weather. Garmin410 also sports a new soft strap heart monitor that was not there in 405 and 405 CX. There is an additional power down feature in 410 lacking in 405.

Garmin 410 has a very sensitive GPS device and is equipped with a new feature called HotFix which predicts and locks satellites. This feature ensures you do not need to waste your time in waiting for the location to get loaded on your watch.

With these additional features and a softer strap that monitors heart rate, Garmin 410 is certainly an improved version of Garmin 405 and 405CX.

Conclusion
