Google and Google Chrome are products of Google company. Google is an American multinational company that is involved in many activities such as internet search, advertising, computer software, operating system for mobiles, cloud computing etc. It is credited with developing many applications, software, internet based services and products. Launched as a public ltd company in 1998, Google is headquartered in California. Google is mainly known all over the world for Google Chrome which is a browser developed by Google to conduct searches on the internet.

While one of the products of Google is the search engine, also known as Google, it is Google Chrome which has emerged as a fast and efficient internet browser. It was first released in a beta version in 2008 for Microsoft Windows. Within three years of its launch, Google Chrome has become a very popular web browser and among the top three browsers of the world. Initially Google was not in a mood for entering browsers war, but when some of the developers from FireFox were hired and the prototype of Chrome emerged, it was apparent that a champion was about to take shape.

Buoyed by its success as a browser for Windows XP, Google Chrome launched Mac OS X and Linux in 2009. Today Google chrome is running successfully on all three platforms.

If all this appears to be gibberish to a layman, Google is a company that makes both Google, a search engine, and Google Chrome, an internet browser. A search engine is in itself a website that allows a surfer to find all the websites in the world by typing keywords. Internet browser is a tool, and that includes Google Chrome, that allows the user to view websites, including the Google search engine.
