Honeycomb Motorolo Xoom vs Android Dell Streak 7 Tablet
Dell unveilled its new tablet “Dell Streak 7″ running on Android 2.2(Froyo) with upgrade capability. Unlike motorola’s 10.1″, this is just 7″ tablet only. A day before this, Verizon Wireless together with Motorola Mobility officially announced their new release Android Honeycomb 10.1” Tablet “Motorola XOOM” at the CES 2011. This is the first Android 3.0 Honeycomb device to be officially unveiled.
Dell Streak 7
Dell introduced its new tablet Dell Streak 7 at the CES 2011. The Android 2.2 (Froyo) based tablet comes with handy 7″ multi-touch capacitive vibrant screen with Gorilla glass; it is smaller and lighter than Motorola Xoom. The widescreen display optimally designed for mobile Web, video and movies.
Dimensions of Dell Streak 7 is 7.87″(199.9mm) x 4.72″(119.8mm) x 0.49″(12.4mm) and it weighs only 450g (15.87 oz).
Dell Streak 7 also has used the same processor as Motorola Xoom; 1 GHz NVIDA Tegra Dual Core processor and has 512 MB RAM, Internal storage capacity with the option of 16GB or 32GB, rear facing 5.0 megapixel camera and a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chatting. The operating system is upgradeable. The Android tablet supports full multitasking, inbuilt Adobe Flash 10.1, Qik and Skype and many other applications from Android Market. Connectivity supported by 3G/4G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and Bluetooth.
Motorola Xoom
Motorola has followed the standard of Apple iPad in size and has designed the Motorola Xoom tablet with a large 10.1-inch display. The 10.1″ HD Tablet comes with Dual-Core Processor, sailing on Google’s next generation OS Android 3.0 Honeycomb and support 1080p HD video content.
This is the first device on Google’s next generation mobile operating system Android OS 3.0 Honeycomb entirelly designed for tablets. The device made more powerful with 1 GHz dual core NVIDA Tegra processor, 1GB RAM and comes with 10.1″ HD capacitive touchscreen with higher resolution 1280 x 800, 16:10 aspect ratio, 5.0 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 720p video recording, 2 MP front camera, 32 GB Internal memeory, extendable up to 32 GB, HDMI and DNLA TV out, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. All this supported by Verizon’s CDMA Network and upgradeable to 4G-LTE network. The device has built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting for new types of applications. The tablet can be a mobile hot spot with the capability to connect up to five wi-fi devices.
The Honeycomb has attractive UI, gives enhanced multimedia and full browsing experience. The Honeycomb features include Google Map 5.0 with 3D interaction, Tablet optimized Gmail, Google Search, redesigned Youtube, ebook and thousands of applications from Android Market. The business applications include Google Calender, Exchange Mail, opening and editing documents, spreadsheets and presentations. It also supports Adobe Flash 10.1.
The tablet, though large is slim and light weight with a dimension of 9.80″ (249mm) x 6.61″ (167.8mm) x 0.51(12.9mm) and only 25.75 oz (730g).
