HTC Facebook Phones HTC Salsa vs HTC Cha Cha

HTC Salsa and HTC Cha Cha are two social phones from HTC with one touch access to Facebook. They come with a dedicated key for Facebook for one touch access, and firmly integrated to Facebook through the upgraded HTC Sense. The Facebook button on HTC Salsa and HTC Cha Cha are context-aware, it will blink when you get a new sharable content or on possible updates. And with a single touch you can load your content or update status in Facebook. Facebook freaks will adore these phones. The two phones also run Android 2.3.3 (and Android 2.4 ready). So much said, then what is the difference between HTC Salsa and HTC Cha Cha? The main difference between HTC Salsa and HTC Cha Cha is the design. HTC Cha Cha is a QWERTY bar, it has a full QWERTY key pad combined with a 2.6 inch touchscreen (480×320 pixels resolution) whereas HTC Salsa is a Candy bar with 3.4 inch touchscreen that support 480×320 pixels resolution.

It is interesting to note that HTC has added a more powerful battery to HTC Salsa than HTC Cha Cha. The battery capacity of Salsa stands at 1520 mAh with an expected talk time of 474min (WCDMA) and 540min (GSM). HTC Cha cha is packed with 1250 mAh battery which will stand for a continuous talk time of 420min (WCDMA) and 450min (GSM).

The Facebook button on HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa is context-aware, gently pulsing with light whenever there is an opportunity to share content or updates through Facebook. With a single press of the button, you can update your status, upload a photo, share a Website, post what song you are listening to, ‘check in’ to a location and more. For example, you can take a photograph of friends on your phone and upload it instantly to Facebook by simply pressing the button. Or let your friends know what song you’re listening to by pressing the button while listening to music on the phone. The track is automatically identified and shared on Facebook.

Both HTC Cha Cha vs HTC Salsa are packed with 600MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion, 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, VGA front camera for video calling, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with FTP/OPP for file transfer, A-GPS and both run Android 2.3.3 with Android 2.4 ready.

HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa smartphones will be available to customers across major European and Asian markets during Q2 2011 and in the United States, it will be availabe by late 2011 with AT&T.
