HTC Sensation 4G vs T-Mobile G2 – Full Specs Compared
HTC Sensation 4G and T-Mobile G2 both Android powered smartphones from HTC are exclusively available for T-Mobile network. T-Mobile G2 was introduced in 2010 and it is T-Mobile’s first 4G smartphone. T-Mobile 4G network is using HSPA+ and T-Mobile G2 is compatible with HSDPA (14.4Mbps)/HSUPA(5.76Mbps). T-Mobile G2 is a Google certified phone, having full access to all Google Mobile Apps including Google Voice and Android Market. HTC Sensation is a 2011 Summer addition to T-Mobile network. HTC Sensation has 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) TFT super LCD display with 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon processor, 768MB RAM, 1GB internal memory and runs the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 3.0 UI. While T-Mobile G2 has a 3.7″ WVGA (800 x 480) TFT LCD display, a slideout (lanscape) 4 row QWERTY keyboard with Z hinge design, trackpad for navigation at portrait orientation, 512MB RAM and 12GB internal Memory. T-Mobile G2 is powered by 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 Snapdragon processor and Android 2.2 (Froyo). The positive features of T-Mobile G2 is its slideout keyboard, trackpad for navigation, more memory (4GB inernal+pre-installed 8GB microSD card) and Google certified. The positive of HTC Sensation is the faster dual core processor, larger and better display, more powerful camera (8MP) but its internal memory is only 1GB, though it’s expandable.

HTC Sensation 4G is the US version of HTC Sensation (previously known as HTC Pyramid). If you are desirous of the latest Android based smartphone with a large display that is also fast and efficient in performance, HTC Sensation is another choice for you. This is a high performing smartphone that is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a huge 4.3” qHD display at a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels using Super LCD technology. The processor is a second generation Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chipset (same processor used in Evo 3D) that consists of 1.2 GHz dual core Scopion CPU and Adreno 220 GPU, which will deliver high speed and performance efficiency while eating less power.
Running on the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) with the new HTC Sense 3.0 UI, it gives a pleasing user experience. The new Sense UI gives a fresh look to the home screen and has included instant capture camera, multi window browsing with quick look up tool, customizable active lockscreen, 3D transitions and an immersive experience with the weather application.
This amazing phone has 768 MB RAM and 1 GB internal memory (8GB supplied on microSD card for certain countries). Internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards.
The smartphone is a dual camera device having an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash at the back that is capable of shooting HD videos at 1080p. With the instant capture camera feature introduced with the new Sense UI, you can capture the photo the moment you press the button. It also has a front 1.2 MP camera that allows users to video chat/call. Rear camera has features of face/smile detection and geo tagging. It offers surround sound experience with hi-fi audio technology. For instant media sharing it has HDMI (HDMI cable required) and also it is DLNA certified. HTC Sensation has access to HTC’s new HTC Watch video service for premium movies and TV shows.

The phone is available with T-Mobile, starting mid May 2011.

T-Mobile G2 manufactured by HTC with Google trademark was the first smartphone to support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ Network. It has a slideout keyboard and touchscreen with swype and trackpad for input. The keyboard is designed nicely for fast and accurate typing. The T-Mobile G2 runs stock Android 2.2. The advantage of the stock Android is that all upgrade to Android OS will come directly to your phone. T-Mobile G2 is powered by 800 MHz second generation Qualcomm MSM 7230 Snapdragon processor.
The other features include 5.0 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and 2x digital zoom, 720p HD video recording and play, 4 GB internal memory and 8 GB microSD card included to the device and it’s expandable up to 32GB. The shortcomings in the phone are the absense of front facing camera and the mobile hotspot feature.
On the content side it has featured applications like Photobucket and Wolfram Alpha and has access to entire Android Market and preloaded with all google apps, from Gmail, Google Voice to Google Goggle.
It available with T-Mobile for $200 with a new 2 year contract and a Do More plan of $80/month or web service of min $10/month.
