HTC Sensation vs HTC Increbible S – Full Specs Compared

HTC is known for making smartphones that rub shoulders with top of the line smartphones in the market and it has yet again released two attractive smartphones; HTC Sensation (earlier rumored as HTC Pyramid) and HTC Incredible S, both these Android based phones are packed with all the latest features. However, while HTC sensation is a dual core phone, HTC Incredible S has a single core processor. HTC Sensation has 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) TFT super LCD display with 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and runs the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread). While HTC Incredible S has 4″ WVGA (800 x 480) super LCD display with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs Android 2.2.1 (Froyo). Both the phones run skinned Android with HTC Sense UI for user experience. However HTC Sensation runs the improved version of the Sense UI, that is HTC Sense 3.0 which gives a fresh look to the phone and has additional multimedia features. HTC Sense 2.0 is used in HTC Incredible S. (read the difference between HTC Sense 2.0 and HTC Sense 3.0). Talking about the other differences, it’s a plain fact that HTC Sensation is a 1.2 GHz dual core phone while HTC Incredible S has 1GHz single core processor, so it slower than HTC Incredible S. The display is also smaller than that of HTC Sensation. The other important difference is the software, HTC Sensation runs the newest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with the latest HTC Sense 3.0 for UI. While it is Android 2.2.1 (Froyo) with HTC Sense 2.0 in HTC Incredible.

HTC Sensation

The HTC Sensation (previously known as HTC Pyramid) is a high performing smartphone that is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a huge 4.3” qHD display at a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels using Super LCD technology. The processor is a second generation Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chipset (same processor used in Evo 3D) that consists of 1.2 GHz dual core Scopion CPU and Adreno 220 GPU, which will deliver high speed and performance efficiency while eating less power.

Running on the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) with the new HTC Sense 3.0 UI, it gives a pleasing user experience. The new Sense UI gives a fresh look to the home screen and has included instant capture camera, multi window browsing with quick look up tool, customizable active lockscreen, 3D transitions and an immersive experience with the weather application.

This amazing phone has 768 MB RAM and 1 GB internal memory (8GB supplied on microSD card for certain countries). Internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards.

The smartphone is a dual camera device having an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash at the back that is capable of shooting HD videos at 1080p. With the instant capture camera feature introduced with the new Sense UI, you can capture the photo the moment you press the button. It also has a front 1.2 MP camera that allows users to video chat/call. Rear camera has features of face/smile detection and geo tagging. It offers surround sound experience with hi-fi audio technology. For instant media sharing it has HDMI (HDMI cable required) and also it is DLNA certified. HTC Sensation has access to HTC’s new HTC Watch video service for premium movies and TV shows.

It is the 1.2 GHz processor that makes all the difference which is felt when browsing. For connectivity, Sensation is Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and compatible with 3G WCDMA/HSPA networks.

The phone is available for Europe, starting mid May and for other regions from mid June.

HTC Sensation – First Look

HTC Incredible S

HTC Incredible S is an innovative design, it has got an unique contoured rubberized back and has large 4 inch super LCD display with a WVGA (800 x 480) resolution. The display produce vivid and vibrant colors and the display is bright enough to be read easily in broad daylight.

This smartphone is equipped with a super fast 1GHz processor with an internal storage of 1.1 GB and a RAM of 768MB. It is a dual camera device with a 8MP camera at the rear that has auto focus and LED flash and can record HD videos in 720p. It also has a front 1.3MP that allows video chatting and video calling. The Incredible immerse you in virtual surroud with SRS WOW HD sound. The phone has all the standard features of a smartphone such as gyro sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and digital compass.

For connectivity, the phone has 3G, Wi-Fi and with Bluetooth 2.1 that supports A2DP for wireless stereo headsets and PBAP to access phonebook from car kit. The phone makes browsing and downloading a pleasing experience with the amazing HTC Sense UI. Another unique feature of HTC Incredible S is the rotation of the button when you rotate your phone to landscape.

The Incredible S is available at Carphone Warehouse for £450 on a pay as you go deal. SIM free is available for £420 and different packages are available on contracts starting from £25/month.
