Indian Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh vs Narasimha Rao

Manmohan Singh and Narasmiha Rao are two prime ministers of India. Manmohan Singh is the current prime minister of India whereas Narasimha Rao was a former prime minister of India.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is a great scholar and a thinker. On the other hand Narasimha Rao was a polyglot who could speak several languages such as Spanish, German, French, English, Telugu and several other languages.

Narasimha Rao is best known for liberalizing the Indian economy. It may be remembered that in the year 1991 he took steps to avert an international default. On the other hand Manmohan Singh served as Finance Minister in the government of India. He holds a research degree in Economics.

Dr. Manmohan Singh served as the Governor of Reserve Bank too. He was also Advisor to the Prime Minister and a Chairman of the University Grants Commission. On the other hand Narasimha Rao served as a Minister for External Affairs. He took nice measures for implementation as far as foreign policy was concerned. This was done especially with his scholarly background.

It is indeed true that both of them traveled long distances to reach the pinnacle glory in their lives. Their lives are filled with achievements to the brim. Dr. Singh is responsible for brining recognition to the matters concerned with the tie-ups of India and the EU during the India-EU Joint Statement in Brussels.

On the other hand Narasimha Rao earned great reputation and appreciation during his participation in the 3rd Conference of UNIDO in the year 1980 at New Delhi and also in the meet of Group of 77 at New York where he headed the proceedings.

It is absolutely true that both of them have their role performed in the development of foreign policy and global economy. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed the functions and the activities of India in detail at the G-20 Summit in Seoul. In fact during the event he highlighted the initiatives taken by India in terms of the reforms towards the functioning of the World Bank, IMF and the like.

On the other hand Narasimha Rao did pronounce India’s role in the development of foreign policy during his period in the years 1981 and 1982. In fact Mr. Rao presided over several meetings of the non-aligned nations along with the foreign ministers with Smt. Indira Gandhi as the Chairperson. Palestinian Liberation Organization issue was dealt very well by Mr. Rao.
