iPod Touch
If you think that iPod was the ultimate media player, think again. iPod Touch is here with much more features and capabilities that bring this amazing device even closer to an iPhone. So much so, that it would be better to call it an iPhone without phone. It has got a super slim design with a bright retina display on a screen of 3.5 inches at a resolution of 960X640 pixels (326ppi). It is a dual camera device with a front VGA camera for video chats while the rear one is capable of recording high definition videos.
iPod Touch has a fast 1 GHz dual core A 4 processor that makes gaming a pleasing experience and makes iPod much more powerful than ever before. It is available in several models with capacities of 8 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB internal storage. iPod is a very compact media player having dimensions of 4.4X2.3X0.28 inches and it weighs only 101 gm. If iPod was 8.8 mm thick, this one is just 7.2 mm in size. For connectivity, it is 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi having Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR.
The only drawback is volume control keys on the side which are difficult to use. They are also hard to press making them a pain to use.
Thus it is clear from comparison that the two devices are very similar to each other in capabilities. If reading e-books is what you intend to do, iPad 2 with a screen size of 9.7” is obviously a better option, but if music is what you are buying the device for, iPod Touch is the way to go. iPad 2 is more expensive of the two, and you can make do with an ipod Touch easily at a several hundred dollars less.
