iPhone vs iPad
iPhone and iPad are two products from the same company that are ruling the segment they represent. Yes, I am talking about Steve Job’s Apple, they are the best in their segments of smartphones and tablets respectively, at least as far as global sales and craze of people are concerned. With redrawing boundaries and gadgets performing multi functions, most of the features of a smartphone can be seen in a tablet and vice versa, despite the fact that they represent two different breeds of electronic gadgets. It is easy for people to be confused regarding their differences and this article attempts to highlight these differences, to enable people to buy a product that suits their requirements in a better manner.
iPhone will remain a smartphone with the ability to make and receive voice call as its identity. On the other hand, iPad is a breed of gadget that has seen the light of the day because of people’s desire and Apple’s enterprise. iPad provides great computing abilities in a handy gadget in a slate form that people could get through laptops, and lately through their smaller versions called notebooks and netbooks.
If connectivity and computing are your preferences you should go for an iPad, whereas iPhone is certainly ideal, if making and receiving voice calls and enjoying multimedia content is all what you want. If you are satisfied with a small touch screen, the 3.7 inch LCD screen of iPhone might be sufficient, but if you want a monster screen to not only surf the net but also enjoy content (reading e-books and watching movies), then the 9.7 inches iPad is the one for you.
Remember, iPad, even iPad2, is not a phone though you remain connected with friends through social networking sites and IM. It however enables you work on a word processing app with a large screen and also enable you through it’s reading app. While there were no cameras in the first version, this has been taken care of by apple, and iPad 2 has 2 cameras to not only shot HD videos, but also to take self portraits and to send them to friends on social networking sites.
As far as the size is concerned, iPad is much bigger than iPhone as the screen of iPhone 4 measures just 3.5 inch whereas iPad has a monstrous screen of 9.7 inches. However, the resolution is higher in the smaller screen of iPhone. The bigger size of iPad is alluring for those who wish to have a device that they can use to watch video clips and movies on. iPad also boasts of a more powerful battery that lasts longer than iPhone.
In brief: Difference between iPhone and iPad • iPhone is basically a smartphone, whereas iPad is a tablet PC • iPhone has a much smaller screen (3.5 inch) than iPad (9.7 Inch) • iPhone allows one to make and receive voice calls. This is not possible in iPad • iPad is alluring for those who wish to watch videos on the net because of its bigger size. • iPad allows working with a word processor and better computing so it is closer to netbooks and laptops in this sense
