LG Optimus One and Optimus 7Q are third generation phones from the house of LG. Though both devices are from LG, they are running on entirely different platform; one is on Android and the other Windows Phone. There are some similarities among both the smartphones in features, however each are having certain distinguishing features which differentiate one from another.

LG Optimus 7Q

LG Optimus 7Q comes with large 3.5″ capacitive Touch Screen, powered by Windows Phone 7 and 1GHz processor, 5.0 Megapixel 4x digital zoom camera with Intelligent Shot mode.

This is the only WP 7 LG device to include a slide out QWERTY keypad.

Windows 7 features include Outlook Integration, Intelligent Shot, ScanSearch, People Hub, Voice to Text and PlayTo. Difference between LG Optimus One and Optimus 7Q

Optimus One runs on Google’s Android 2.2 (Froyo) whereas Optimus 7Q is powered by Microsoft’s WP 7. Both Google and Microsoft have done their research well and have produced a very good operating system for mobiles. However, there is an expectation that people will have the feeling for WP7 due to the existing familiarity with Windows OS for PCs.

Windows 7 applications include Outlook Integration, Intelligent Shot, ScanSearch, People Hub, Voice to Text and PlayTo.

Android also has integrated some useful applications like, Google Voice, Google Search, Google Goggles and Google Map.

The explicit differences among both devices are the slide out physical QWERTY keypad and the screen size; Optimus 7Q has larger display (3.5”) and ‘One’ has slightly smaller (3.2”). The display of ‘7’ is also more vibrant and crispier with 16M colours (256K in One) and higher resolution (480 x 800 vs. 480 x 320 pixels).

The other comparable difference is the camera; Optimus 7Q comes with 5.0MP autofocus, 4x digital zoom camera, Optimus One has got 3.2MP dual focus, 15x digital zoom

The processor speed is high in Optimus 7Q (1GHz) and Optimus One has only 600MHz processor.

The short coming in Optimus 7Q is its battery life which is only 4 hours 10 min talk-time. The Optimus One is on a better standing in this regard with a talk time of up to 6 hours.

Optimus 1 is a good choice at an affordable price to experience Android’s latest features on a LG device; Whereas Optimus 7Q is useful for more advanced users.

The Android Version 2.2 gives added features like JIT Compiler, Automatic Application updates, FM Radio, New version of Linux Kernel, OpenGL improvements, support to Flash 10.1 and Color Trackball.

Windows Phone 7 Mobile operating system comes with attractive user interface with multi-touch technology, on screen text input, advanced web browser, excellent multimedia, search and automatic software updates and integrates with many popular Microsoft consumer services such as Xbox LIVE, Windows Live, Bing and Zune.

N.B. LG Optimus 7, the sister edition of LG Optimus is having many similarities with Optimus 7Q.
