Difference Between Love and Adore

Love vs Adore

You meet a person who is beautiful and charming. You feel attracted to him and think of ways to get in touch with him. You spend time with him that lingers on in your memories. You certainly like the person, but you are still undecided whether you love him or not. Slowly, your emotions get involved and you feel restless when you do not get a chance to see or talk to the person. You have certainly gone past the stage of liking the person. This is when you can say that you adore the person to your friends. Love is stronger than adore as it involves a commitment towards a person. Once you say I Love You to a person, you feel compelled to have feelings of love towards that person alone and this is natural and not forced.

When you have moved forward in a relationship from being casual and started to like a person, he or she becomes more than a mere acquaintance and you long to spend time with him or her. This is the stage of infatuation when you feel magnetically drawn towards the person and desire to be in his or her company all the time. It is like a huge crush on the person. You know you like him, but still undecided whether to get deeply involved or not. You find it hard to live without the person and look forward to getting a chance to spend time with him. The mere mention of the person brings fond memories and you feel good. This is when you are getting signals that you simply adore the person.

There are people who have issues with using the word ‘love,’ especially those who have been hurt in a relationship before. They deliberately try to avoid falling in love and instead use the word adore instead of love. In any case, adore is a step below in the chain of liking a person while love is the ultimate feeling which is the highest level in liking a person. But when you adore a person, you are that much closer to falling in love with him than you think.

Summary

‘I Love You’ are the strongest three words that you speak to a person. This is when you are sure that he means much more than being a friend and that you cannot live without the person or that life is worth living for that person alone. Adore is certainly a level lower than love.
