Difference Between Money and Happiness

Money vs Happiness

Money and Happiness are two words that are used as if they are deeply related to each other. They are used as complement to each other. They are used in the sense that there cannot be happiness without money and there cannot be money without happiness.

Whether such an idea is true or false is not proved even by the greatest of poets and thinkers.

Money is a thing that can be earned. On the other hand happiness cannot be earned, but it can be experienced. Money cannot be experienced too on the contrary. Money is purchased whereas happiness is not purchased.

Money is not happiness; happiness is not money. In many cases we find where there is money there is no happiness. On the other hand we also find may cases where there is not money there is happiness. It all depends on contentment to have happiness.

Contentment gives happiness. A contented life is a happy life. A contented person need not have money to be happy. In the present scenario it is felt by people generally that money alone brings happiness. This is because of the increase in the wants of the people. The wants are increasing day by day.

As long as wants increase there is no way you can find happiness. Money alone can fulfill those wants and bring happiness. Thus money and happiness are related in the present situation.

Happiness can be begotten at the minimum of food, clothing and shelter. You need not have too much of money to get the minimum of food, clothing and shelter. Thus according to some happiness lies in the state of satisfaction of what we have than what we can have. As a matter of fact the relationship between money and happiness is still a complicated one that cannot be easily proved.
