Nearsightedness vs Farsightedness
Most of the people, nowadays, are seen to be experiencing eyesight problems and vision issues. This problem has increased generally because of the extensive exposure to the harmful rays emitting from television, computers, laptops etc plus there are countless other factors such as genetic reasons, wrong use of the lens, wearing cheap sunglasses etc. Just as there are several reasons behind vision problems similarly there are several types and kinds in eye vision problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness, squint, difference in the angles and several others but among all these problems, the most prominent ones remain to be nearsightedness and farsightedness. Both these issues are extremely evident in youngsters and elderly people alike. Although there hasn’t been a 100 percent treatment evolved for nearsightedness and farsightedness yet there are several ways how people fight with the problems including eyeglasses, lenses, laser treatment, pills and medicines etc.
Nearsightedness
Nearsightedness, also known as myopia is an eye vision problem most commonly witnessed in people of all ages including toddlers even. The basic symptoms of this problem include blurry images and inability to read when things are at a distance. People who are suffering from myopia or nearsightedness can see nearer objects, images, and scripts clearly but their eyes lose focus just as they need to see something that is at a distance. Most commonly people face problems while looking at road signs, blackboards, billboards etc. you can determine the extent of your nearsightedness through a complete and thorough eye check up from an eye specialist.
Farsightedness
Farsightedness is also known as Hyperopia and it is a vision disorder mostly caused to people who have crossed the age 25 but people also experience it a much younger age owing to the conditions and genetic reasons. In farsightedness, the patient can easily see the distant objects clearly but loses their focus as those objects, images or any written script comes nearer. Generally a person would experience Hyperopia when their eyeball becomes exceptionally short or the cornea shows a little curvature. This will in turn make the light become out of focus just as it enters the eye which makes nearer objects look blurry and unclear. People who are experiencing farsighted problems will experience problems in focusing and concentrating on the objects which are placed near. This would cause an unclear vision, stress, or strain on the eye muscle resulting in fatigue and headaches.
What is the difference between Nearsightedness and Farsightedness?
The basic difference between near sightedness and far sightedness is people who are experiencing nearsightedness can’t see clearly at a distance while those experiencing farsightedness can’t see clearly at nearer objects. People who have crossed their young age mostly experience farsightedness while the problem of nearsightedness can happen to a toddler even. The cornea becomes very short in farsightedness and becomes bigger in nearsightedness.
