Nintendo specialized in action/adventure games Turok: The dinosaur hunter, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario cart 64. Nintendo games were more expensive than PlayStation games. While Nintendo games ranged from $49.99 to $59.99, PlayStation games were available from $39.99 to $49.99. Gamers liked PlayStation as they could also get pirated games which were much cheaper.

Nintendo games provided superior access times, whereas PlayStation games took longer to load. The quality of audio was superior in PlayStation because of CD-ROM.
