Peanut Butter vs Sunflower Butter

Peanut butter and sunflower butter are two well-liked and loved foods that have numerous health benefits, and not to mention quite an addicting taste! They are somewhat similar, but some people would tell you that they prefer one over the other.

Peanut butter

Peanut butter is made from ground roasted peanuts and is usually sold in many variants, including smooth and crunchy. Sunflower butter, or sunflower seed butter, comes from the popular sunflower seed snack. Its ingredients are almost the same as peanut butter but instead of peanuts, it uses roasted sunflower seeds. It also has a more refined taste and has is rich in nutrients like Vitamin E and B, zinc, copper, anti-oxidants, cholesterol-reducing phytosterols and folate, and some essential fatty acids as well as fiber and protein.

Difference between peanut butter and sunflower butter

The main difference between peanut butter and sunflower butter is their main ingredient: peanuts for peanut butter and sunflower seeds for sunflower butter. And also, while peanut butter tends to be sweet and creamy, sunflower butter has this heavy yet refined taste. Peanut butter is also commonly used to make sweets dishes and chocolates. It’s even used as a base for an anti-malnutrition food called plumpy’nut. Sunflower butter on the other hand is used not only to make sweet dishes, but savory ones as well. It is used in cakes, cookies and salads as well as other grain and vegetable dishes.
