Plastic Surgery vs Cosmetic Surgery
Plastic surgery is the surgery which restore the normal function and structure to the organs. The Greek word plastike means the art of modelling. People do think plastic surgery is using plastic for the surgery. But there are no connection with the plastic with this surgery. The reconstruction usually use the own tissue for replacement of lost tissue. Example the burn injury may destroy the normal skin. The normal skin from other site may be used as skin graft. Using the own tissue for reconstruction will reduces the rejection of the tissue. Plastic surgery includes reconstruction of the breast and buttocks. The silicon bags may be used to enhance the breast size. The surgery to correct the cleft lip or palate also fall in to re constructive surgery. Most of the time it restore the anatomy of the organ.
Micro surgery uses the skin flabs to cover the affected area. It can be other tissues like muscle, tendon or bone. The micro surgery may be used for reconstruction.
On the other hand the cosmetic surgeries are enhancing the beauty of a person. Plastic surgeries can be used to enhance the appearance of the body. However not all the plastic surgeries are cosmetic surgeries. The abdomino plasty (reconstruct the stomach appearance), Breast reconstruction, buttock reconstruction, the nose reconstruction, the eyelid reconstruction are some of the examples for cosmetic surgery. The cosmetic surgery gained the market in US and China and getting the popularity all over the world.
