Pokemon Red vs Pokemon Blue
Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue are two different versions of the role playing game, Pokemon, made by Nintendo for Game Boy. It was released first in 1996 as Pokemon Red, and Green in Japan. Later in that very year, the company released the Blue version along with Pokemon Red in Americas, Europe and Australia. Pokemon Red was a smashing hit around the world with the result that a remake of the version was later released by the company as Fire Red. However, Blue Pokemon did not meet with the same kind of success. Therefore in the remake in 2004, Game Boy released Fire Red and Leaf Green. This article attempts to highlight the differences between Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue.
The plan to release the Pokemon pair as Red and Blue after they were released as Red and Green in Japan coincided with the betterment of graphics, and a new design for the final dungeon in the Blue version. Though the total number of Pokemon that can be captured by the trainer remains the same (151), each version has some Pokemon exclusive to it. The most glaring difference can be seen with Vulpix Pokemon in Blue and Growlith Pokemon in Red at similar levels. This means that there are some Pokemon in Red that are not to be found in Pokemon Blue while there are some in Pokemon Blue that are absent in Pokemon Red, and in order to catch them all, players need to indulge in trading.

In short, the differences between the Red and Blue Pokemon versions are minimal, if any pertain to differences in Pokemon in each game. To become a complete trainer, a player needs to catch all the Pokemon. For this, he needs to train his Pokemon with another player, playing with the other version.
