Pressure Flip vs Hard Flip

Difference between pressure flip and hard flip is for those who are interested in doing more tricks using a skateboard. Skateboarding is a very popular sport in the world, and millions of kids indulge in it as a favorite pastime. It is indeed very exciting and also spectacular when a person proficient in performing tricks riding a skateboard zips around flat tracks and overcomes obstacles. The jump, which takes both the skateboarder and the skateboard up in the air to cross a hurdle, is known as Ollie. Ollie is a skateboarding trick invented by Alan Ollie Gelfand. Once a skateboarder learns how to perform an Ollie, he can go on to learn may more tricks. Two of the popular tricks are a pressure flip and a hard flip, and both require agility and skill from the skateboard. As the name indicates, pressure flip and hard flip make use of different leg movements to achieve the flip in a different manner. All the differences between these two flips are discussed below.

What is a Hard Flip?

A hard flip is essentially a frontside pop shove-it with a kickflip. This is really a hard trick to achieve, and the skateboard appears to move in a vertical direction. Sometimes, when doing this trick, the board appears to move vertically through the legs. The degree of the vertical movement is determined by the action of the front-foot.

Difference Between Pressure Flip and Hard Flip

There are different types of hard flip known as 360 hard flip, Ghetto bird, and Diamond flip. In 360 hard flip, a 360 frontside pop shove-it is done with a kickflip. Ghetto bird is done in the following manner. You pop an illusion flip and then turn 180 degrees after catching the board just as you are landing or just after you land. Then, the Diamond flip is a hard flip with a backside 360-degree body rotation.

What is a Pressure Flip?

Pressure flip, on the other hand, is any flip trick that gets its flip direction from the foot that makes the nose or the tail of the skateboard pop up. Scooping technique is made use of when performing a pressure flip. Pressure flips are easier to perform than hard flips as they can be easily performed as inward heel flips. There is another pressure flip known as the 360 pressure flip. Here, as the name implies, this is a pressure kickflip that rotates 360 degrees.
