SS vs Gestapo
SS and Gestapo are the police organizations of Nazi Germany under the sole dictatorship ruling of Adolf Hitler. They follow the teaching and governance of the Nazi party and have been accounted for numerous violations of human rights during the World War II.
Gestapo
The Gestapo is short for the German term GEheime STAatsPOlizei which means secret state police in English. The organization was founded around April 20, 1934 to 1939 only under a Nazi army leader Heinrich Himmler. Their abusive power comes from a law called Schutzhaft or “protective custody”. This law enables the Gestapo Police officers to arrest and put anyone inside the prison cell without the need for any judicial process.
SS
The SS is the short-term for Schutzstaffel which means “protection squad” and still under the tyranny leadership of Heinrich Himmler from 1929 until 1945 in the course of World War II. They have been consistently committing a great amount of crimes, humanity violations, and other evil deeds. The sole purpose supposedly of the SS is to protect personally the Nazi supreme commander Adolf Hitler.
Difference between SS and Gestapo
The Gestapo is a short-lived police organization that existed around 1934-1939 only while the SS is longer since they existed for sixteen years around 1929-1945 before being abolished. The original foundation date of the Gestapo can be traced back in April 1933 whereas the foundation date of the SS is originally on 1923. It was only on the later years that they began to abuse their ranks and powers. The first commander and leader of the Gestapo police is Hermann Goring, a World War I veteran. In the case of the SS, it was Hitler’s personal friend, Emil Maurice.
The Nazi’s and their cronies have been accounted for profuse number of deaths, murders, massacres, and any other crimes during the World War II with the dictator leadership of Adolf Hitler. The most unforgettable crime that the Nazi’s ever committed and have been part of the world history is the Holocaust which killed over 6 million Jews. A slaughter if others may say about it.
In brief: • SS and Gestapo are the police organizations of Nazi Germany. • The original founder of Gestapo police is Hermann Goring and Emil Maurice for the SS squadron. • The foundation of the Gestapo can be traced back on April 1933 while the SS is as early as 1923.

An honest, open comment, here:
I don’t think that the woman “clarisse”, who posted this article in 2011, is a native English speaker. She uses “present tense” where the verb conjugations should be in the past tense. Examples:
1.) THE SS and THE Gestapo WERE the police organizations of Nazi Germany, under the SOLE RULE (viz., dictatorship) of Adolf Hitler.
>> explanation of the above: The words in capital letters are either added into the original text, or they represent a change in the text.
2.) They FOLLOWED the TEACHINGS and governance of the Nazi party and WERE ACCOUNTABLE for numerous HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS, during World War II.
And, that is only the beginning, in redacting this article…
Remember that most of the deaths in the camps were from disease and Gentiles died too
So what is your point? That doesn’t change the fact that 6 million Jews died at the hands of Hitler and his henchmen.
The SS was not a police organization. It did have many components. The SD was a police organization (sicherheit dienst = security service) which was similar to the Gestapo (geheim staat polizei = secret state police). Eventually the Allgemeine SS absorbed all the police / intelligence services of the Reich. The young lady that wrote the comments above is not well informed.
