Table vs Chart
If you have studied math, especially statistics, as a part of math in higher classes, you know what tables and charts are and their specific uses. Any periodic and changeable information can be represented by a table, and one can gain all the information easily through the table rather than reading in sentences that would be rather time consuming and not allowing any comparison between data. Chart is another way of representing data, but it is rather different from the table as information is presented, not in terms of numbers, but lines and bars, and a circle makes reading such data more interesting and attractive. Table
Table is easier to represent than a chart, and it uses rows and columns to give out all the information. For example, information about how a child has become taller and heavier with passing time can be presented in the form of a table, where one variable (height) can be written in one column while weight can be written in another column, to let a reader know in an instant how the child has progressed according to his age. Tables can be simple with only two variables, or they can be complex with several columns for different variables. Tables are made heavy use of, in many disciplines especially in math, medical sciences, and today more often in the field of IT. The first time a kid makes use of a table is when he learns multiplication tables or when he learns the timetable of his school.
Chart
Chart is an interesting way of representing information on a sheet of paper or a poster. The monthly budget of an individual or a company or even a government can be easily represented with the help of a pie chart, which is a special type of chart using a circle with its pieces indicating the expenditure of the government or the individual. Another pie chart could be used to show his income. In a multi cultural society, the composition or the makeup of the population is easily represented using a pie chart with different colors assigned to different sections of the society.
Charts can also be bar charts that are used to show the rate of a currency in terms of US dollar. When comparing the revenue of a government over a period, bar charts are extremely useful.
