The key difference between Twin XL and full beds or mattresses is that a twin XL mattress is 39” X 80” whereas a full mattress is 54” x 75”. Thus, a full bed or a mattress is larger than a twin XL.

The dimensions of a twin XL are typically 39” X 80”. It is 5” longer than a standard twin bed (39” X 75”) although the width of the bed is the same. Moreover, a twin XL can also only accommodate only one sleeper, just like a standard single or twin bed. However, it offers more leg room for the sleeper, especially if he or she is a tall person.

Moreover, if you combine two twin XL beds, you get the same dimensions as a King bed. This is because twin XL has the same height as a king bed. In addition, twin XLs are cheaper than double beds.

What is a Full Bed?

A full or double bed or mattress has the dimensions 54” x 75”. It is 15” wider than a twin XL, but 5” lower in length. Thus, two people can share the bed; however, it gives each person only 27”, which is equivalent of a crib mattress. Since it is lower in length, it is not ideal for tall people.
