Both are Australian companies that offer suede boots with sheepskins and merino wool to keep feet warm and dry during winter months. They tend to look very similar and their differences seem to go unnoticeable to some that are not so keen on details.

Uggs

It has been for a long time that Ugg boots are dubbed as “generic” boots in Australia. These boots are made from sheepskins with fleece assembled on the inside. Emu boots came into picture later than Ugg boots. While some people consider Emu boots as “knock-off” Ugg boots, there are some who find Emus different, unique and stand out from the competition with its elegant, classy look. These boots are also made from sheepskin which makes feet warm on cold months. The upper part of the boots can be easily modified and folded down. The soles are double layer of EVA and are very supportive to the heels and toes. There are also variations as to color, style and height that are available for Emu consumers.

Difference between Uggs and Emus

They may seem similar, but Ugg and Emu boots have their differences. For one thing, Ugg boots costs a lot more than Emu boots. There are those who don’t want to spend a fortune on boots so they opt to buy Emus instead. Emus offer more varieties compared to Uggs. This makes Emu boots trendier and has more flexibility in matching with different attires. Instead of sheepskin, some Emus use merino wool, however, people have not been so keen on noticing it. Ugg fans say Ugg boots are more waterproof than Emu boots, and Emu fans also say otherwise.

It all boils down to personal preference, really. There are those who want to splurge and buy Ugg boots while others prefer the affordability provided by Emus. Some like Ugg designs, others prefer Emu designs. No matter what the choice is, both boots have made quality boots that serve the purpose of keeping your feet warm in the coldest of times.
