Vinyl vs Laminate Flooring

Wooden flooring has been in to the flooring industry for a very long time now. In the past, usage of carpets and marble tiles was seen to a great extent however in the latest days, the trend has shifted to flooring that makes use of one or the other type of wood. Some of the most popular names among different types of flooring materials are vinyl flooring and laminate flooring which have earned their name due to their distinct nature and attractive natural look. The advantages and disadvantages of both types of floors are present which make them different from each other. This article discusses those differences allowing the readers to understand them.

Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring is a type of flooring made with the help of vinyl and is an inexpensive type of flooring. The natural look of vinyl flooring accompanied with its superb shine makes it perfect to be used in any room of the house. The durability of vinyl flooring adds to the comfort of using it in homes and offices. Vinyl flooring offers great durability along with the fact that it is easy to clean.

Laminate flooring

Laminate flooring is one of the popular types of flooring currently available in the market. Laminate flooring makes use of the particle board or in place of it, the fiberboard along with a wood veneer. The top of the fiberboard is fixed with a wood veneer offering maximum durability and versatile nature allowing it perfect for usage in offices and homes.

What is the difference between Vinyl and Laminate Flooring?
Vinyl flooring is in the form of different types of vinyl tiles that can be either individual vinyl tiles or they can be roll vinyl tiles. All one needs to do is to peel off the back and put the tile on the floor and the glue provided with the tile which will fix it in place. Such flooring options are convenient and easy for homeowners as they don’t have to spend extra for professional help. The use of Roll Vinyl Tiles has also been encouraged. Such a type of tile needs to be glued before it can be put in to its place which results in an increased amount of work involved. Another bad thing about these tiles is that they have to be rolled down in order to keep them flat after they have been placed properly. Laminated flooring on the other hand is a type of flooring which doesn’t require any type of glues or nails to be adhered to the floor. Laminate flooring is also called a floating floor due to the reason that it expands depending on the conditions of weather due to which it is also not adhered to the ground with the help of glue or nails. Installation is easy as there is no technicality involved making it a simple option for homeowners to install it. Vinyl Flooring has been reported by a number of its users to fade away after the passage of some time which causes the owners to pull it up from the floor some time. Waterproof is one of the greatest features that Vinyl Flooring possesses. It can also withstand weight without losing its shape or attractiveness.
