Image processing on the other hand, is done through signal processing. Image processing techniques usually refers to the process which involves treating an image in order for the image to manifest itself clearly. When you say image processing, more often than not, it refers to digital processing with the use of high technology gadgets. However, optical and analog processing may also be done in order to process an image.
