There are many reasons to why people have vomiting and spitting up. Children and adults, both face the nausea due to multiple causes. Basically vomiting is a state of ill health where a person spit out all the substances of his stomach from the mouth. Nausea is a feeling that most of the times lead to vomiting. The process is completely involuntary and it happens in a sudden manner. The ejection process, while a person vomits, happens in a gush, very rapidly and forcefully. Spiting up is quite different from vomiting. It usually occurs in infants, it is the spiting out of the saliva from the mouth. It normally happens during frequent coughing. Thus, both the states are different from one and other.

Vomiting is the phenomena that involve the throwing out the matter present inside the human body. There could be multiple possible reasons for it. Aggressive vomiting can be dangerous too. It causes extreme dehydration in the body. The major reasons due to which a person might suffer from this ailment could be:

• Taking in any poisonous substance

• Viral infections

• Any brain disorder- brain diseases, motion illness, migraine etc.

• Health disorder that might be related to the stomach problem- food poisoning, ulcers etc.

• Psychologically health disorder

• Stomach upset- food allergies, overeating, etc.

• Pregnancy

• Reaction of the drugs in taken

It must be noted that vomiting itself, is not a disease but it may be a symptom of a serious disease. Vomits are very acidic in nature. It is usually of dark color; mainly the color of the recent eatable appears in vomits. If the matter gets into some other system of the body, the patient might face the trauma or choke. Blood vomit is another related aspect of this problem that is a very serious issue. The process involves the contraction of the muscles and so, after the process, the person feels better. There are many drugs available for the treatment and cure of vomiting.

Spiting is the process in which a person throws out the phlegm from the mouth. It is commonly referred as mucus which is made up of mucin, water, salts and various cells. When a person is suffering from any serious illness, the production of this substance can be noticed visibly. The mucus is produced up in the lungs. Spiting out is not a good habit overall, spiting out on a face of a second person might cause him to face the similar disease which you might be suffering from. Blood can also be spit out, but in that case the internal problem must be very serious. In babies, spiting out is very common. Spiting out of the food is also seen among the health conscious people, who just chew and spit for the sake of keeping their weight in balance.

The main difference between the two is the difference in the substances that the person throws out of his mouth. The matter of the vomit is produced inside the stomach and the mucus is concealed within the lungs. In vomiting the matter inside the stomach is to be thrown out, while in spiting out, the phlegm is created inside the throat of the person. Both have different reasons to occur. And the state of the person is also different in both the cases. In the spiting out process, the person might swallow the mucus at times, as a very few of the substances in the phlegm are good for health. But as for the vomiting, a person cannot think of that acidic matter going back. The vomiting is a complete involuntary process while spiting out is quite a voluntary move.
