It’s obvious that there are a lot of differences between wife and girlfriend, which subject is taken for discussion in this article. The main difference between wife and girlfriend is that the wife is legally married person, whereas a girlfriend could be a friend, but not married. A girlfriend could take her own decision and could go away from a man’s life and no legal requirements are required for separation, whereas in the case of wife, since the marriage has already occurred on a legal basis the separation should also be legally based.

A wife is a female partner in a marriage. The obligations and rights of the wife about her husband or spouse and other, and her status in the law and the community, vary between culture s and has varied eventually. The word “wife” seems to be almost close to the bride, the latter is the female partaker in a wedding event, whereas the wife is a married woman during her marriage and after the marriage. The male partner is called the bridegroom and during the time of wedding he becomes the husband to the female partner (wife).
A wife is a part of the family and she has all the rights to take decision and to participate in all the occasions. A girlfriend does not have the rights to take part in the family matters. Legal family members can forbid the girlfriend from going to her boyfriend’s funeral. A girlfriend cannot make medical decisions or be eligible for any social security when the boyfriend passes on.
A wife is a caretaker of you and your family, whereas the girlfriend has no family relationship with you, but just makes you feel ecstasy. A wife will always be with her husband in her journey of life. Wife is a title and honor given to a married women and she enjoys all the rights with her husband and family.
Who is a Girlfriend?
Girlfriend is the term that could refer to either a female non-romantic friend who is closer than other friends or a female partner in a non-marital sexual or romantic relationship. The relationship between two parties will not have any responsibilities on each other such as taking care of her or him or taking care of the children , etc. The male partner in this relationship is called a boyfriend and the female partner is called a girlfriend.
The term “girlfriend” and “girl friend” has several different meanings. For example, when the term girl friend is used by a girl or woman about another girl or woman in a non-romantic, non-sexual, context, the two term type ‘girl friend’ is sometimes used in order avoid the confusion with the romantic or sexual meaning, but this not a rule. In this case of usage the ‘girlfriend’ is used in terms of a very close friend and has no romantic or sexual connotations unless it is in the case of bisexual, pansexual, lesbian. Sometimes a girlfriend is not necessarily used for a sexual relationship, but it is used to describe a woman who is dating a person, not for a sexual relationship but it might be just for friendship.

• Wife has a legal right over her partner while the girlfriend does not have any right over her legal partner.
• The partner of wife is known as husband. The partner of girlfriend is known as the boyfriend.
