When you consider the body shape of the Yorkie, Yorkie looks squarely in size i.e. its height and length is almost equal. Then, the color of the coat of Yorkie is steel blue. Moreover, Yorkies have a longer coat that often drags down on the floor. Its coat picks up a lot of debris and leaves, which you will have to remove frequently. The head of Yorkie is lighter in shade. As far as size is concerned, a Yorkie must not exceed 7 pounds in weight. The best way to tell, if a pup is Yorkie, is to check the bow on its head. More about Silky Terriers
When we look at the origin of the Silky Terrier, Silky Terrier is a result of crossing of Yorkie and Australian Terrier. This was done in early 1800s when Yorkies were first brought to Australia. The body shape of a Silky Terrier is as follows. From a side view, Silky Terrier looks longer than its height. Silky Terrier has a lighter coat which is silvery or slate blue in color. Silky Terriers have a coat length that covers the body and can go beyond, but does not touch the floor. The head of a silky terrier is deep tan. On the other hand, Silky Terriers are between 8 and 12 pounds in weight. Silky Terriers have slightly longer noses than a Yorkie and also have almond shaped eyes. Silky Terriers are aggressive in nature. They should not be left alone with toddlers or other smaller pets.
