Android HTC Flyer vs Apple iPad 2
HTC Flyer and Apple iPad 2 are two tablets released in Q1 2011. They are different in many aspects; starting from the size to processor speed and operating system. HTC Flyer is a 7 inches Android tablet introduced in Feb 2011 while Apple iPad 2 is 9.7″ pad released on 2 February 2011. HTC Flyer is packed with 1.5 GHz Processor while iPad 2 is built with 1 GHz Dual core A9 application processor. HTC Flyer is initially to run on Android 2.4 with HTC sense as the user interface while iPad 2 runs the improved version of the Apple’s proprietary operating system, iOS 4.3 . HTC claims HTC Flyer as the first tablet with HTC Watch video service, HTC Scribe Technology and OnLive cloud gaming. Apple has made iPad 2 as a mobile musical instrument with GarageBand and boasts about its 65000 odd iPad specific applications. Both are amazing tablets with each having certain unique features that differentiate them.

HTC Flyer is a compact and powerful Android based tablet that features a seven inch display, 1.5Ghz processor, 1 GB RAM, 16GB internal storage,5 megapixel camera in the rear with 720p HD video recording and 1.3 megapixel camera in the front, dual speakers with SRS WOW HD vitrual surround sound for rich listening, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Buetooth 3.0 and weighs only 420 grams
The tablet also gives you the pleasure of full browsing with the Adobe Flash Flash 10 and HTML 5. For input in combo with on screen virtual keypad, it has digital PEN. HTC Scribe Technology introduces the digital pen that make it easy and natural to take notes, sign contracts, draw pictures, or even write on a web page or photo.
HTC Sense also inroduces HTC Watch for video streaming. The HTC Watch enables users to download High-Definition movies from major studios and instant playback and instant playback over Wi-Fi.
HTC boasts about its integrated OnLive Mobile Cloud Gaming, saying that they are taking mobile gaming to an entirely new level by being the first mobile device in the world to integrate OnLive Inc.’s revolutionary cloud-based gaming service. Users can play a variety of games, including hits like Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, NBA 2K11 and Lego Harry Potter.
Apple iPad 2
iPad 2 has excellent multitasking feature with the support of 1 GHz dual core high performance 1GHz A5 application processor and improved OS iOS 4.3.
iPad 2 is amazingly slim and lighter than its previous iPad, it’s just 8.8 mm thin and weight 1.3 pounds. It retains its previous display in iPad 2 also. The display is 9.7″ 1024×768 pixel LED back-lit LCD with IPS technology. The new A5 processor’s clock speed is twice as faster than A4 and 9 times better on graphics while the power consumption remains same.
iPad 2 has added some new features like HDMI compatible – connect to HDTV via AV adapter, camera with gyro and a new software PhotoBooth, 720p video camcorder, front facing camera with FaceTime for video conferencing, and introduced two applications – improved iMovie and GarageBand that makes iPad as a small musical instrument, each priced $4.99. iPad 2 will have variants to support both 3G-UMTS network and 3G-CDMA network and will also release Wi-Fi only model.
iPad 2 is available in black and white colors and use the same battery as iPad and also priced same like iPad. Apple introduces a new bendable magnatic case for iPad 2, named as Smart Cover. iPad 2 will be available in the US market from March 11th and to others from March 25th.
