Apple iOS 4.3 vs Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Apple iOS 4.3 and Android 2.3 Gingerbread are both Smartphone and tablet operating systems from Apple and Google Android. Apple iOS 4.3 is a proprietary protocol for Apple devices from Apple whereas Android 2.3 Gingerbread is a version of android series open source protocol. Apple iOS 4.3 was first released with Apple iPad 2 in March 2011 and Android 2.3 was released in Dec 2010. Android 2.3 comes with native Gmail client, Google Map 5 and native YouTube player and applications are from Android Market whereas Apple iOS 4.3 has its own email client and YouTube Player which is lacking the desktop reality of Gmail and YouTube. Performances wise we could not comment at this time, but both are expected to give their best performance with dual core 1 GB RAM.

Apple iOS 4.3 is a major release. It has added some new features and incorporated existing features in iOS 4.2.1 with improvements to some features. Apple iOS 4.3 was released with Apple iPad 2 in March 2011. It supports additional multifinger multitouch gestures and swipes. iTunes Home sharing is another feature added in Apple iOS 4.3. Improved video streaming and AirPlay support is also introduced in iOS 4.3. And there is performance improvement in Safari with new Nitro JavaScript engine. Airplay features include additional support for photo slide shows and support for video, audio editing from third party applications and share content in social network.

Apple has introduced two applications with iOS 4.3. One is the new version of the iMovie, Apple boasts it as a precision editor and with iMovie you can send HD video around with one tap (you don’t have to go through iTunes). With one tap you can share it with your social network, YouTube, FaceBook, Vimeo and many other. Its priced at $4.99. With the new iMovie you get over 50 sound effects and additional themes such as Neon. Music automatically switches with themes. It supports multitrack audio recording, Airplay to Apple TV and it is an universal application.
GarageBand app is the other, you can plug in touch instruments (Grand Piano, Organ, Guitars, Drums, Bass), get 8tracks recording and effects, 250+ loops, email AAC file of your song and it is compatible with Mac version. This also priced at $4.99.
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
Android 2.3 the Gingerbread is a major platform release, it was released in December 2010. There are a lot of improvements made to Android 2.2 and new features are incorporated in creating Gingerbread. The new features of Gingerbread are new UI Framework, redesigned keyboards, new copy and paste functionality, improved power management, better application management, new download manager, NFC (Near Field Communication), support for VoIP/SIP calls, new Camera application for accessing multiple cameras, supports for several new sensors such as gyroscope, rotation vector, linear acceleration, gracity and barometer, support for mixable audio effects including bass boost, headphone virtualization, equalization and reverb, support for extra large screens and much more. Further revisions to Android 2.3 were introduced with Android 2.3.1, 2.3.2 and 2.3.3. Android 2.3.3 is significant out of these three.

Difference Between Apple iOS 4.3 and Android 2.3 Gingerbread
(1) Apple iOS 4.3 is a Proprietary operating system from Apple whereas Andorid 2.3 is an open source operating system.
(2) Since Android is an open source operating system, different vendors modify it and change the GUI for their devices. On top of this, third party developers also modify Android and release new Android based ROMs.
(3) Real feature difference could be seen when compare iPhone 4 with Apple iOS 4.3 and Samsung Galaxy S II (Galaxy S2) with Android 2.3.
(4) Address book translation perfectly matches with Apple iOS 4.3 to Android 2.3 but when we transfer contact details from Android 2.3 to Apple iOS 4.3 some fields misses.
