ATI mobility Radeon and regular ATI Radeon are graphic processing units made by ATI. ATI Radeon is a leading brand of graphic processing units. It has been manufacturing GPU since 2000. However, the company was bought by AMD group and today some of the GPU are being sold under the brand name ATI Radeon while others are being sold under the brand name AMD ATI. Talking of ATI mobility Radeon and ATI Radeon, they are vastly different product though they serve the same function of being GPU. ATI Mobility Radeon, as the name suggests, is suitable to fit on the motherboard of a laptop, while a regular ATI Radeon is good enough for your desktop. As the laptop chip uses the system memory of the laptop, it runs at a slower speed to conserve power. Desktop card on the other hand has its own integrated memory which means that both the card as well as the computer runs at a faster speed. Even on a desktop, there is a huge difference between a chip and a card.
ATI Mobility has the same circuitry and features as a regular ATI Radeon but it is designed to operate at a lower voltage that is available to a laptop and hence has slower clock speeds.
