Clinic vs Hospital
Clinic and Hospital are two words that are indeed different from each other when it comes to the purpose for which they are built. A clinic is a health center or a private consulting room started by a practicing physician. On the other hand, a hospital can be a private or a government building where patients are admitted for treatment. This is the major difference between the two words.
A clinic is usually run for about 3 to 4 hours when the doctor visits and examines the patients that have lined up by token system. The doctor examines the patients one by one, prescribes medicines and gives the directions as to how to use the medication.
On the other hand, a hospital is a 24 hour health center where patients get admitted for treatment of various diseases. There will be several doctors attending upon the patients in a hospital. Another important difference between a clinic and hospital is that a clinic normally does not have beds meant for patients. On the other hand, a hospital has many beds meant for patients.
There will be separate rooms meant for patients that are admitted in a hospital. On the other hand, a clinic does not have several rooms meant for patients. The patients on the other hand have to wait at the main room of the clinic and collect their tokens and wait for their doctor to get his consultation. This is a very important difference between the two words.
A hospital has several blocks too such as outpatient block, inpatient block, accident block, cancer block, and the like. On the other hand, a clinic does not have blocks. Hospital usually has a mortuary also attached to it. A mortuary is a place where dead bodies are kept after post-mortem till they are claimed by their relatives. On the other hand, a clinic does not have a mortuary.
Deaths take place in the hospitals. On the other hand, deaths do not take place in the clinics. Even if a patient comes in a serious condition, the doctor at the clinic quickly transfers him to the nearby hospital. Clinics normally do not have emergency kits. On the other hand, all hospitals have emergency kits to save the lives of the patients. A clinic is a medical consultation room where a patient goes before getting admitted into a hospital.
